Our History

1997:
  • IMATEC was established by two engineers with deep expertise in the Syrian medical equipment market.
  • The company initially focused on selling and maintaining pre-owned Siemens CT scanners, providing customers with a one-year warranty on the equipment.
  • IMATEC represented ADAC Laboratories in Syria.
1998:
  • IMATEC partnered with TREX, and became its representative in Syria. 
1999:
  • The company added MDS Nordion and PANTAK to its portfolio.
2000:
  • IMATEC began representing Varian Medical Systems (USA) for oncology products.
  • IMATEC represented PTW Freiberg (Germany) for measurement equipment, diversifying into advanced medical technology solutions.
2001:
  • Philips Medical Systems (PMS) acquired ADAC and Picker, and IMATEC was appointed to manage their nuclear medicine line.
  • IMATEC also became the representative for CIS BIO (France), introducing brachytherapy systems to Syria and marking the sale of the first system of its kind in the country.
2003:
  • IMATEC partnered with Veenstra (Netherlands), a leading manufacturer of hotlab and radiation protection control equipment.
2004:
  • IMATEC began representing Bebig (formerly Par-Scientific), a German-Danish manufacturer of mold rooms for radiation therapy.
2010:
  • IMATEC expanded its portfolio by becoming the representative for A2J Laser Technology (France), a leading manufacturer of lasers for high-tech medical equipment.
2019:
  • IMATEC partnered with Mediso (Hungary), introducing their nuclear medicine product line to the Syrian market.
  • The company also began representing UJP Praha (Czech Republic), a manufacturer of Cobalt therapy systems.
2022:
  • IMATEC represented CQ Medical (U.S manufacturer) of medical devices, accessories, and components for use in radiation therapy and radiation oncology.
2023:
  • IMATEC represented Bebig Medical (Germany), manufacturer of medical devices and accessories, mainly used in brachytherapy and radiotherapy.
